RCMP recover large amount of keys during traffic stop

RCMP pulled over a vehicle during a routine stop where several violation tickets were issued and the vehicle had to be towed. A routine traffic stop in the county has led to the discovery of a cache of keys, believed to be stolen.

RCMP said officers pulled over a vehicle for a routine stop and several violation tickets were issued. The vehicle also had to be towed due to the violations. After the stop, investigators determined the vehicle had been stolen.

With the investigation on-going, RCMP said charges are still pending against the suspect. No name, age, or gender of the suspect has been released at this time.

The Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit was quickly called in to have a look at the case and searched the vehicle finding a large number of keys.

Investigators said they have not been able to determine the owners of any of the keys at this point and are turning to the public for help getting the keys to their rightful owners.
